innsbruck children's center clinic
together with lukas schumacher
eu-wide, closed implementation competition
urban structure
all areas to be newly created in the near or more distant future – children's center, expansion areas west and east, internal medicine – will be accommodated within a coherent structure of a "hospital artery" as internal and external access route of the clinic site.
the character of the peripheral zones – kaiser-josef-straße and innerkoflerstraße – is continued within the clinic area alongside the artery.
the open structure of the site with its strong public character is on the one hand maintained, on the other hand a coherent context is created through compact building volumes and clearly structured in a recognizable way. low building height, spatial densification not as a continuation of the currently non-existent structure – not punctual, but as a superior ordering element.
construction phases and internal organization
horizontal and vertical interweaving of access routes.
a potential overbuilding of the children's clinic can be considered.
further densification through additional floors (a third inpatient upper floor in partial areas or entirely possible).
green zones
general public area along the street space
winter garden, café, roof garden on level e2
flexibility
overarching large-scale structure with circulation arteries, spatial layout flexible, expansion possible on the roof to the west and north.
energy use
large roof surfaces are suitable for passive and active energy use.
