kindergarten lustenau

amid the pitched-roof single-family housing landscape typical of vorarlberg, the project occupies the far eastern corner of the site to free up its own elongated orchard as a spatial reference. from the homogeneous overall form, the individual group rooms extend outward, interlocking with the surrounding green space and drawing direct light from all directions.
the garden is a direct extension of the group rooms. the spatial sequence – group room, openable transitional zone (teaching winter garden), and outdoor space – is essential for kindergarten use. upon entering, the visitor can perceive the entire building and immediately locate their own place within it. circulation areas are transformed into a series of spatial sequences through open annexes.
