architectural concept
the existing building is not altered except for the adaptation of the escape routes; the structure remains untouched and a possible extension is avoided. this keeps all construction changes open, including demolition, for a future general renovation concept.

open space
the compact building volume and the relocation of parking spaces allow for a spacious, south-facing open area. the schoolyard is no longer occupied by cars.

foyer
the foyer on the ground floor is the central reception area and connects the school, both dormitories, and the gymnasium. its spatial generosity comes from the connection to the gym and the visual links to the outdoor space. during events, the seminar / multipurpose room, the wine bar, and the serving area can be opened to this space and used together with it and possibly the gym.

gymnasium
the gym is lowered and receives glare-free light from the north. on the ground floor, it is preceded by a seating tribune that offers views into the hall during events but also during everyday school operations. the changing rooms are preceded by a dedicated clean corridor connected to the equipment room, allowing for external use.
classrooms
five classrooms are arranged in the connecting building between the existing school / boys' dormitory and girls' dormitory; one classroom is exchanged with the seminar / multipurpose room relocated to the ground floor. the gym and foyer roof offer an additional spacious outdoor break area.

girls' dormitory
the girls' dormitory is connected to the school on the ground floor and first floor. this part of the building is situated so that a hotel or seminar operation independent from the school building is possible in summer. each pair of rooms has a niche-like area in front that extends into a spacious, skylit common zone. corridor areas become spaces for communication and socializing. additionally, each floor offers architecturally separated recreation areas, with visual connections to the dormitory life being emphasized. ski, bicycle, and drying rooms are located on the ground floor to keep internal routes short. the study room opens generously to the open space; in summer, the covered outdoor area in front can also be used.
