three-part south façade

roof zone
two-story penthouses
within the roof profile that recedes at a 60-degree angle, a partially two-story, transparent vertical façade is proposed, structured with full-height projections and balconies.
this design creates generous outdoor terraces with views toward the linden trees, the brandenburg gate, and over the rooftops of the buildings opposite.

middle zone
single-story apartments
full-height, approximately 3 × 5.5 × 1.2 m transparent, display-case-like window elements, with glass planes that wave forward and backward, create a playful sense of depth within the stone façade. open presentation loggias face the linden trees. during the warm season, most of the glass surface is movable, allowing the living space to extend into the terrace. the required stone façade consists of colored, textured, prefabricated artificial stone panels, whose appearance changes throughout the day with the play of light and shadow. the mandated 50 percent stone coverage is maintained. the wooden framing of the display elements adds an impression of elegance and residential luxury within the solid façade.
base zone
entrance level, Madame Tussauds
a two-story glass façade spans the entire width, creating a unified, elegant base zone. the structural columns recessed behind the glass lose their perceived weight, giving the building a new lightness and making it appear to float. advertising attention for Madame Tussauds is achieved with a red, transparent band on the first floor. during the day, the shop and exhibition can be fully opened with sliding elements.
access to the apartments is highlighted by a separate, recessed, weather-protected entrance in the center of the building. the existing central column is replaced with two slender new columns, opening up the middle and providing the luxury apartments with an entrance befitting their importance.
