jury statement

conceptually, the designers develop a carpet-like school campus stretching between two head buildings, one along the street and one along the ruetz. this very consistently executed project approach largely avoids issues with height zoning along habichtgasse, but occupies the majority of the planning area. the school campus is entered from the northeast via the federal road. the open entrance offers various sightlines up to the sports hall and provides spatial volumes appropriate to the program.

the head building accommodates the pts and, very attractively, the primary school on the upper floor. starting from the auditorium, the internal circulation, slightly angled, is accompanied by a sequence of clusters and private outdoor spaces leading down to the boarding school. very good clusters with outdoor areas providing excellent quality of stay. however, the individual outdoor areas come at the expense of a shared communal outdoor space. the jury views the proximity to the federal road as critical. overall, a very appealing project that particularly meets the requirements of full-day school use.
